Email Tips +

Tip #1: Personalize Your Message

Tell your elected official why this legislation matters to you – her constituent. Include a personal story that shows how issues like climate change or poor air quality, impact you and your family.

Tip #2: Personalize Your Relationship

Have you ever voted for this elected official? Have you ever contributed time or money to his or her campaign? The closer your legislator feels to you, the more powerful your argument is likely to be.

Tip #3: Customize Your Subject Line

Don’t use the pre-loaded subject line! Stay on topic, but make your subject line a little different. Your email will have more impact if your legislator knows you took the time to customize this message.
